IMF Boiling Point Lab

How to use: Pick a molecule. Decide if it is polar and name its strongest force. Then see its boiling point.

1. Pick a molecule

Pick a molecule to start.

2. Is the molecule polar?

3. Strongest force

Pick a molecule, then choose polar or nonpolar and the strongest force.

Boiling points you have found

Boiling points at 1 atm, rounded (NIST Chemistry WebBook and CRC Handbook). Lower bars boil at lower temperatures.
Hints. Nonpolar: only dispersion. Polar: dipole-dipole. Hydrogen bonds need H bonded directly to N, O or F. Bigger molecules have stronger dispersion forces.
